Yugyeom flirts with Ahgases in Manila

Yugyeom in Manila

It’s not a concert, it’s Yugyeom’s party. Everybody’s invited to have a good time.

This was how it felt attending Yugyeom Live at New Frontier Theater, Cubao, Quezon City on Aug. 19. The event was organized by Pulp Entertainment. It was the first time for the GOT7 maknae to perform in the country as a solo artist. Other GOT7 members who came to the Philippines as solo artists are Youngjae, BamBam and Jackson Wang. Everything about the event reflects Yugyeom’s personality.

The stage was set up so he could be at a touching distance from his fans. Fellow AOMG artist DJ Wegun opened his set for him. His fashion stayed faithful to his R&B vibe. He came out in black jacket, baggy shirt and baseball cap.

He opened his set with his first solo single “I Want U Around” featuring DeVita from his “Point of View: U” album. The 24-year-old artist followed it up with “Running Through The Rain” revealing his romantic side to the audience.

Moons and dandelion

Yugyeom started talking to his fans by complimenting them first.

“So beautiful. Saranghae (I love you), Ahgase,” he told them. Ahgase is the fandom of GOT7. He went on to talk about his European tour. “I am so happy to be in Manila. It’s my first solo concert in Asia. It has been awhile since our last concert with GOT7 members. It’s about three years (ago). I was very excited and nervous but not anymore because I’m here with you.”

This was met with deafening cheers. He continued to talk about his journy as a solo artist under AOMG. The label is known to house Korean hiphop and R&B artists.

“I focus more on the music itself,” he said.

GOT7 and Jay Park nod

Yugyeom serenaded his fans by singing “When U Fall” followed by “Falling In Love”. Then he asked the audience if they knew Loco before he proceeded to sing “It’s All About U”.

“Take You Down” before proceeding the crowd please “All Your Fault”. The song “Always Ready” is not even released yet, however, the crowd was already singing and dancing with him.

It is an AOMG artist tradition to perform “Mommae” in their events. Yugyeom used this moment to tease the crowd with a glimpse of his dandelion tattoo.

He also raised his sleeve, bringing attention to his newest tattoo of moon and the Scorpio constellation. The crowd screamed and he smiled naughtily. He’s enjoying himself.

But as an ultimate fan service, he would reveal his tattoo in full.

Yugyeom danced a lot and so did his fans. He gave a nod to GOT7 by performing “1+1,” “Hard Carry” and “Two.” It was quite fitting that he sang “Hard Carry” to a hyped up crowd as he went down from the stage to perform at a touching distance from his fans.

Ahgases did not want the moment to end. Hence, they chanted “Walang uuwi!” (no one will go home). Yugyeom chuckled when he learned what it meant. It was a cute moment.

An explosion of confetti and green lights marked the end of the concert. The GOT7 touch was the perfect way to end a most perfect reunion of Ahgases and Yugyeom.
