Felix of Stray Kids donated 100 million won for the drinking water, hygiene and nutrition project of children in Laos.
“With this donation, Felix becomes the youngest member of the Unicef Honors Club in history and the first member in 2024. He is famous as a person who has always taken the lead in sharing activities for underprivileged neighbors,” said the Korean Committee for Unicef, according to a report from Naver.
The Committee further said that Laos is one of the countries with poor drinking water, sanitation and nutrition. Only 18 percent of the total population have access to safe drinking water and 33 percent of infants under 5 years of age suffer from stunted growth.
Love for love
“I participated in this donation because I wanted to share the love I received,” said Felix. “We hope that Laos children, who suffer from various difficulties due to polluted water, hygienic conditions, and insufficient nutrition, will grow up healthily in a safer environment in the new year.”
Korean Committee secretary general of Unicef Cho Mi-jin said, “It is even more meaningful that the good influence of Felix, who is loved by people all over the world, can be conveyed to children around the world through Unicef.”
He joins Jin of BTS as part of the Honors Club. The BTS member became a member in 2019.
Felix is also a member of non-government organization (NGO) Save The Children Honors Club for his consistent donations. He is also a member of World Vision’s Vision Society Club as a major sponsor for the NGO.
Felix is part of the danceracha subunit and the rapper line of the K-pop act. He wrote and sang “Deep End”. Fans call him the sunshine of Stray Kids for his sweetness and warmth.
