TXT gives us ‘Deja Vu’ in new comeback

단체 TXT minisode 3 TOMORROW MEDIA SHOWCASE (3)

SEOUL—The Gen Z icons of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) just dropped their newest single, “Deja Vu,” today, April 1. The track is the lead single of their sixth mini album “minisode 3: Tomorrow,” also released today.

Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai are back with intricate stories of youthful angst and salvation, as they continue to navigate the world around them. They take us along on their nostalgic journey as they look back at their time before “Tomorrow.”

“These kinds of visuals and music are something only TXT can create and I have confidence in that,” leader Soobin told the press in a media showcase.

Rage, angst

“Deja Vu” is an emotional pop offering, full of rage and angst, weaving different genres such as emo rock and trap into the whole song. TXT’s constant collaborators, renowned artists such as Slow Rabbit, Supreme Boi and HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk, produced the track, which helped the five members genuinely embody the identity the band has established since their debut in 2019.

“minisode 3: Tomorrow” also has six other tracks including the bright House track “I’ll See You There Tomorrow,” synth-heavy “Miracle,” unit songs “The Killa (I Belong to You)” by older members Soobin and Yeonjun; and “Quarter Life” by Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai.

The nostalgic morse code track “- — — — ·-· ·-· — ·–” (TOMORROW) takes us back to TXT’s debut years, when they were first introduced to the public. The boys celebrated their fifth anniversary last March 4, with a mini fan meeting for their MOAs (fandom name). The Gen Z icons are also set to go on the large-scale world tour “ACT: PROMISE” with their first shows in May.
