Lee Jong-suk’s agency, HighZium Studio, made an announcement on Dec. 31 according to a Naver report. The article says that “Actor Lee Jong Suk and IU recently progressed from being close acquaintances into being a couple, and they are maintaining a serious relationship.”
The announcement was made after Dispatch reported that the two are dating. The Korean entertainment agency reported that Lee Jong-suk and IU spent Christmas together at a luxury resort in Nagoya, Japan.
On Dec. 30, Lee Jong-suk received the Daesang or the grand prize for his starring role in the hit drama “Big Mouth” at MBC’s annual award ceremony. During his acceptance speech, he thanked an unnamed individual for cheering him on.
“After completing my military service, I had a lot of worries, fears, and troubles plaguing me.
“But at that time, there was someone who helped me to find a good direction as a human being and to think positive thoughts. There’s something I really wanted to tell that person using this opportunity.
“I want to tell that person that I’m thankful to them for always being so admirable, that I’ve liked them a lot for a very long time, and that I respect and admire them greatly.”
HighZium Studios initially tried to dispel any dating rumors by stating that, “He was addressing someone to whom he was personally grateful.
“As for why he didn’t name the person in question during his speech. He simply couldn’t share any specific information out of respect for that person, and he was just expressing his gratitude.”
They made another announcement after Dispatch released photos of the two together. The announcement reads:

IU, also known as Lee Ji-eun, is a multi-hyphenate talent. She is a singer and an actress starring in some of the biggest Korean dramas such as “Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and “Hotel del Luna.”
Dispatch also reported that ““The family has already acknowledged their relationship.”
The two worked together as emcees for SBS “Inkigayo” 10 years ago.
