All eight members of Stray Kids renewed their contract with  JYP Entertainment.

In a report by Star Today, JYP announced that Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N renewed their exclusive contracts ahead of the expiration of the current one next year.

According to report, JYP said, “Stray Kids, an artist who is demonstrating the power of unrivaled music and performance in the global music market, and JYP, who has led and planned their growth, have renewed their contract with deep trust and dreamed of a lofty vision.”

Stray Kids debuted on March 25, 2018, after the airing of the survival show with the same name.  What made it different from other survival shows is that Stray Kids fought to stay together rather than eliminate a member.  They’ve also named their fandom STAY.

Stray Kids will stay with JYP

Self-produced

The group is known for producing their music. They are also credited with creating a new genre called “mala” or spicy music.  Sub-unit 3Racha (Bang Chan, Changbin and Han)  writes and composes songs for the group. They write songs that take inspiration from their own experiences, events that affected them and pop culture happenings.

3Racha received their Best Creator Award in the recent Asia Artist Awards in Bulacan. Other members of Stray Kids also have songs credited under their name.

“Oddinary,” “Maxident,” “Rock-Star” and “5-Star” were their first four charting albums. The four consecutively debuted first place in the Billboard 200. According to Billboard, they are the first act to do so since Alicia Keys (2001-2007).

They achieved another milestone in the chart when “Lalalala” became their first song to enter the Billboard 100.   They were named Best K-pop in the MTV Video Music Awards last year.

World tour

Their global recognition continues as they attend some of the biggest music festivals in the world.   They recently headlined “I-Days” in Milan and “BST Hyde Park” in London.  The group will also be one of the main acts on “Lollapalooza Chicago”.

They recently announced their World Tour “DominATE” which will kick off in Seoul next month. Stray Kids will hold their concert at the Philippine Arena on Nov. 23.
