AAA red carpet style: stars wore their individuality

NewJeans

There was no theme at the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) red carpet held at the Philippine Arena, Bulacan, on Dec.14.

Some walked in formal garb, while others wore their stage costumes. It made the entry of the celebrities exciting because the press didn’t know what they’ll get.

The Asia Artist Awards was created to honor South Korean and other Asian talents in the entertainment industry. Black and white were popular picks for the stars. Standouts included “Business Proposal” actress Kim Se-jeong, who walked like a queen in a white floor-length halter dress. Her look got dramatic when she turned around to reveal an open back.

Dressed in white

Rapper Lee Young-ji had fun in her white ruffled off-shoulder dress. It was the perfect cut for showing off her tattoos on the back and arm. She even danced to BooSeokSoon’s “Fighting,” unbothered by her high houndstooth platform shoes.

Filipino pride and Lapillus’ Chanty led her group wearing a mini dress with glitter mesh lace. Her hair was brushed softly to the side. The men also seemed to like this color scheme, as artist Yoo Seon-ho walked in in an all-white ensemble, while singer

Kim Jae-joong chose a white jacket over black pants. AKMU’s Su-hyun wore casual white dress, black tall boots and jacket. “True Beauty” actress Moon Ga-young’s quiet confidence was evident as she walked in wearing a strappy black corset dress. She paired this with black strappy heels. Her accessories were a gold necklace and earrings. She wore her hair straight and long, reaching her lower back.

ITZY’s Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna looked divine in variations of black mini dresses. Black made their hair colors pop. Dreamcatcher and their members also came predominantly in black. It allowed their tresses to shine.

Le Sserafim wore gray dresses that made them stand out and memorable during the preevent. Rookie of the year Lee Eun-saem’s long-sleeved black glitter dress with a dramatic open back was eye-catching as it caught the flashes of the camera.

Mixing styles

There were pops of colors. Melai Cantiveros-Francisco was a scene stealer in her voluminous pink off-shoulder dip hem ball gown.

Ive’s Jang Won-young, one of the emcees, wore a long red dress that hugged her silhouette perfectly. Her waist-length wavy hair was swept to one side. Her look was complemented by Zerobaseone and emcee Sung Han-bin’s red velvet jacket.

Kang Daniel’s black suit balanced everything out. The StayC girls were all styled in red dresses. Sung’s jacket made sense because Zerobaseone came in a mix of red and black suits.

Kim Seon-ho, who wore a bow tie with his black tuxedo, drove his loyal fans wild. Ahn Hyo-seop went for the same look—classic never goes out of style.

NewJeans walked in in their performance costumes of crop tops and denims. The group fearlessly represented Gen Z fashion. SB19 mixed things up literally by combining different prints with their suits, while Hori7on tied their individual looks by all wearing boots.

Stray Kids stayed true to their brand of mixing styles while following the group’s theme. Most pieces appeared familiar because they’ve worn them in previous outings, albeit styled differently. For example, Hyunjin came in a Versace jacket, the same one he wore in Tokyo.

BooSeokSoon’s DK, Hoshi and Seungkwan made their suits look playful with accents. Hoshi and Seungkwan wore ribbon neck dresses while DK wore a corsage on his chest.
