Hip-hop/R&B girl group XG has officially released their re-cut single “IN THE RAIN” today, April 11, via their label and agency XGALX.
The track, originally featured on XG’s second mini album “AWE”, which marked the group’s first-ever entry on the Billboard 200 last November, has been reborn with fresh energy. Known for its R&B-inspired sound that blends rainfall with delicate guitar melodies, “IN THE RAIN” paints an emotional picture of heartbreak. The melancholic tone and ambient rain sounds create a quiet yet powerful resonance, evoking the feeling of facing one’s emotions head-on.
The re-cut includes “IN THE RAIN x XDM”, a high-energy EDM version of the original track, as well as an instrumental version. The XDM remix retains the emotional core of the song while infusing it with bold, dynamic beats in line with the XDM Series, further expanding XG’s unique sonic world.
Standout
The single has been a standout moment during the group’s ongoing “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’”, where the performance of “IN THE RAIN” with umbrellas and captivating choreography has earned high praise from fans worldwide.
A new group visual featuring all the members in sleek suits has also been released today, April 11, at 8 PM JST / 7 PM ET / 4 AM PT, adding another layer of aesthetic depth to the track’s narrative.
Following their global campaign song “IS THIS LOVE” for Shiseido’s ANESSA TV commercials (airing across Asia including Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and more), XG is showing no signs of slowing down.
Up next, XG will make their Coachella debut this Sunday, April 13, as the only Japanese artist on this year’s lineup. From there, the group will continue their tour with stops in Seattle, São Paulo, and Mexico City, before wrapping up with a final concert at the iconic Tokyo Dome on May 14.
On the same day as their Tokyo Dome finale, XG is set to release their 6th single, “MILLION PLACES,” marking yet another milestone in their already groundbreaking year.
