Will ‘Kingdom’ have 10 seasons?

Director Kim Seung-hun teases the possibility of a total of 10 seasons of “Kingdom”.

“Hopefully, she (Kim Eun-hee) will continue to surprise you with the shocking points all the way until season 10,” he said to the Philippine press on March 5 during a video conference.  He said this after praising the writer for being the master planner of everything that we enjoy about the drama.

The director laughed when he heard the gasp of the reporters after hearing his statement.

Kim Eun-hee is the creator and scriptwriter of the series.  Season 2 dropped on Netflix on March 13. The second season, just like its predecessor, has six episodes.

Seung-hun is the director of the first season and the Episode 1 of the new season.  Director Park In-je took over from Episode 2 onwards.

“Kingdom” follows the quest of Crown Prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji-hoon) as he tries to contain an outbreak that turns mankind into monsters hungry for flesh and blood.  Seo-bi (Bae Doona) is the skilled physician determined to find a cure to the disease.

Jun Ji-hyun’s cameo

Lee Chang’s nemesis is Cho Hak-ju (Ryu Seong-ryong).  Hak-ju is a man who will stop at nothing and do anything to get the power that he desires.

Season 3 is not yet confirmed.  However, actress Jun Ji-hyun already voiced interest through her agency in joining the show as a cast if it pushes through.  Jun made a cameo in the finale of the second season.
