“The King: Eternal Monarch” is the first drama of actor Lee Min-ho since his discharge from the military.
The drama is about two parallel universes crossing over to each other. It revolves around King Lee Gon who seeks to seal the gateway between dimensions and police inspector Jung Tae-eul (Kim Go-eun).
Consequently, this is also Go-eun’s first drama since “Goblin/Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” in (2016/2017).

Both actors reunite with writer Kim Eun-suk for this drama. Eun-suk is the writer for “Goblin” where Go-eun was the female lead with Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook and Yoo In-na. She also wrote “The Heirs” where Min-ho starred in with Park Shin-hye and Kim Woo-bin. She is also the creator of TV hits “Descendants of the Sun” and “Mr. Sunshine”.
They started shooting “The King: Eternal Monarch” last year. One of its reported shooting sites is Chungcheongbuk-do. Baek Sang-hoon (“Secret,” “Who Are You: School 2015” and “Descendants of the Sun”) and Jeong Jee-hyun (“Search: WWW”) directed the drama. .
The drama starts streaming on Netflix starting April.
