Holt Welfare revealed that Lee Min-ho donated 10M won or roughly P424,000 to the organization to combat COVID-19 through the donation platform Promiz. The actor has donated a 300M won or P12.7M to different charitable organizations.
Holt Welfare is an international NGO focusing on children’s welfare. Yesterday, donation platform Promiz revealed that the actor and his agency MYM Entertainment donated of 300M to 8 organizations including the Community Chest of Korea, Good Neighbors, Hope Bridge Association of the National Disaster Relief, Save the Children, Green Umbrella and other children associations.
The donation will be used as an additional funding for COVID-19 emergency response. It is for the front liners including the medical staff, people in charge of quarantine, administration officers and volunteers. They also provided for families at risk and affected by the virus.
It’s a Promiz
“Promiz hopes that this help will be delivered where it is necessary,” the organization said. “I hope you will be able to take a small help from Lee min-ho and the organization.”
Promiz founded by the actor in 2014. It aims to support the underprivileged in Korea. His fandom, Minoz, also donates through the foundation.
South Korea is the hardest hit of COVID-19 outside of China. The country has 4,335 confirmed cases. Daegu City is the epicenter of the virus in the country. The Philippines have lifted the travel ban to South Korea except in North Gyeongsang Province.
Lee Min-ho starred in hit dramas including “City Hunter,” “The Heirs,” “Boys over Flowers,” and “Legend of the Blue Sea.” He got discharged from military service last year. He has an upcoming drama with Kim Go-eun titled “The King: The Eternal Monarch.
