Kim Sae-ron and Nam Da-reum are all grown up and they are now ready to take on lead roles. The two star together in “The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim”.
The fantasy series is about Ga Doo-shim, played by Kim, who has supernatural abilities but just wants to be an ordinary high school student. Na Woo-soo (Nam) is the popular boy who suddenly starts seeing ghosts after meeting Doo-shim.

In the press conference held on July 29, Kim shares how she’s turning 22 on July 31. She’s still comfortable wearing a high school uniform.
“Even though it’s a story about witchcraft, I feel more connected to humanity and emotional aspects. I am hooked to the script as soon as I start to read it,” said Kim.
Nam said that he felt the pressure of being the lead in this series as an adult. However, having a reliable co-star helped him with the series.
“[Kim Sae-ron] really takes care of me. Since we have both been acting since adolescence, we share and discuss a lot of frustrations and experiences on the set”.
Cuddling
In the trailer, Kim and Nam cuddle each other closely several times. “Cuddling is what brings them closer together,” said Park. “Their authentic chemistry is convincing to all the crew.” Kim also said if the series attracted many viewers, “I would have a happy dance”.

After rising to fame in the reality show Produce 101, Yoo Seon-ho will play an evil spirit in the new series. In order to truly commit to the character, he studied other similar genre series, bleached his hair four times, and used a lot of stage blood.
Director Park Ho-jin said that the series has a possibility for a second season. While the story is about spirits, Park said, it focuses more on humanity and coming-of-age experiences for adolescent girls. Asked about the next season.
“I think there is a need for the second season. Leading characters are students now, but they will encounter more issues and develop more stories in the future. If viewers love the first season, I will definitely agree to a second season,” said Park.“The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim” starts streaming on July 30, every Friday at 7 pm in in iQiyi International app or on iQ.com.
