It’s just the first episode of “The King: Eternal Monarch” and we already have a couple that we are rooting for–King Lee Gon (Lee Min-ho) and Jo-yeong (Woo Do-hwan).
We have good reason to love these characters together. Theirs is a friendship built on trust and sincerity. The young king would often act recklessly and his guard is the one who keeps him grounded.
“We are all almost at the same age and because of that my experience working with the cast on this project is comfortable, fun and also a lot fierce. I really enjoyed the atmosphere on the set,” Lee said during the video conference on April 16 with the international press.
The camaraderie between the two actors show. Lee Gon’s seriousness and aloofness are a match for Jo-yeong’s nagging and overprotectiveness. Together, they are the unexpected power couple that emerged on this episode.
Their friendship started when they were just kids.
They were able to maintain that friendship when they got older.
Their collective visuals are blinding.
Are we going to see a couple name from them soon? Gon-Yeong? Lee-Jo? Gon-Jo/Go-Jo? Lee-Yeong? Names or no names, we are obsessed with these two.
