Hyun Bin secretly donates P8M to charity to prevent COVID-19 spread

By: Ruth L. Navarra

Hyun Bin knows how to operate secretly, even when it comes to charity.

The actor has donated 200 million won or P8M to Community Chest of Korea soon after he released a letter translated into four languages through his agency, VAST Entertainment.

“You might be spending day after day anxious and worrying over the Coronavirus disease 2019 which is occurring all over the world and throughout Asia including China and Japan as well as Korea,” he wrote.  “I’d like to ask after your health at least by writing to express my worry over whether the place you are at is safe.”

Koreaboo reports that his donation was so secretive he did not even allow his agency to know about it.

Hyun Bin’s drama “Crash Landing on You” opposite Son Ye-jin has recently ended.  The drama has become one of the highest rated cable TV shows in Seoul. It is also one of the most watched dramas on Netflix two weeks after it ended.

South Korea is the hardest hit of COVID-19 outside of China.  The country has 4,335 confirmed cases.
