Funds raised to give ‘eggs of Ji Chang-wook’ away to families affected by COVID-19

There are many ingenious ways to raise funds to help those affected by COVID-19.  One of them is to ask your friends to buy “eggs of Ji Chang-wook”.

Ji Chang-wook Philippines (JCWPH) admin Anne dela Cruz posted on her newsfeed that they plan to send a tray of eggs to 50 families in Pililla, Rizal.  Those families come from five barangays namely Hulo, Imatong, Takungan, Wawa and Bagumbayan.

Each egg tray is worth P200.  The eggs, she said, can be eaten by a family from breakfast to dinner.  She playfully added that the eggs of Ji Chang-wook are beautiful and delicious.

It only took less than an hour before all the trays had a buyer. Some members of JCWPH bought more than one tray.

“Soldout agad ang mga itlog ni Ji Chang-wook!” she happily told Super K.

It is a funny way to raise funds, but JCWPH has been serious with their efforts to help out.  The group already sent PPEs and alcohol to several hospitals in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. They gave away face masks to LRT-1 commuters in February.

As of writing, additional 50 egg trays are available for purchase to help out more families, bringing the total to 100. The egg trays is going to be part of the relief pack containing noodles, rice and canned sardines.  The effort is in partnership with the Virgilio B. Melendres Memorial Elementary School (former Pililla Elementary School Unit 1) Batch 91 through JCWPH member Cel Bermudez.
