Chanyeol, from the maknae line of EXO, donates 50 million won or P2M to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The idol and actor made the donation through Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. The organization was established in 1961 by broadcasting and newspaper companies, and social organizations. They aim to help those suffering from unexpected disasters.
Hope Bridge is the same organization that Chanyeol’s agency, SM Entertainment, chose to donate 500 million won to for the medical staff fighiting the disease.
South Korea has confirmed 256 new coronavirus cases, thus increasing the total to 2,022 on Feb. 28. Daegu City is the epicenter of the outbreak in the country.
“I hope I can help those who have difficulty in preventing the spread (of COVID-19) in their community,” Chanyeol said. He also added that he hoped the money will be used to purchase materials that could help stop the spread of the diseases.
Chanyeol’s dramas include “Memories of the Alhambra” and “EXO Next Door.”
