BTS worked with two Filipino songwriters


International phenomenon BTS started 2020 with a bang, taking the world by storm with their much-anticipated single “Black Swan,” their first comeback since the success of “Map of the Soul: Persona” last year. 

The septet has cemented their status as world music icons, working with artists, dancers and various organizations all over the globe. Fittingly, two Filipino songwriters worked on the group’s latest song.

Vince Nantes and August Rigo composed and produced the genre-bending single “Black Swan,” alongside BTS leader RM, multi awarded and frequent collaborator Pdogg and rapper Clyde Kelly.

“Everyone showing love and it’s an amazing feeling. Thank you. #1 on ITunes,” Nantes wrote on an Instagram post. 

Released last Jan. 17, “Black Swan” tackles the nuances of the band’s artistry. The track, spoke to many all over the globe, as the lyrics explored the band’s creative relationship with music.

“Black Swan” is the first single from their forthcoming album, “Map of the Soul: 7” which will be released on Feb. 21. The group collaborated with MN Dance Company for a haunting art film featuring the single and a chilling performance from the Slovenia-based troupe.

BTS has always exceeded expectations, with the promotions for this album being carried out in the grandest fashion. The band launched “Connect BTS” last Jan. 14, a collaborative project in five cities, tapping 22 artists all over the globe, to carry out exhibits that “resonated with BTS’ philosophy.”
