If you like Valentine’s Day but hate the Feb. 14 crowd, now is the perfect time to celebrate.
I’M Hotel, the hip 5-star hotel in Poblacion, has “spa-cation” with buffet offers for couples, groups and individuals available all February.
A ValentI’M to Remember is a package for two that includes an overnight stay and quite a lot of food: welcome snacks and refreshments, breakfast in bed with premium TWG tea, dinner buffet at The Common Good Food Playground with glass of wine, free-flowing tea at the spa.
I’m Onsen is the calming multilevel spa of I’M Hotel. (See sidebar for onsen tips.) On the second floor are the gender-specific Wellness Suites with onsen pools, herbal steam room and sauna, lockers and shower area. The Spa Suites are treatment rooms with Spa Pods, Couple’s Suite, Executive Suites for families and groups, and a VIP Party Lounge with a videoke system for 12-15 guests. The Relaxing Lounge is the common area with recliners where you can sip tea while having a foot rub.
Buffet for two
Highlight of the A ValentI’M to Remember package is the private onsen (jacuzzi) where couples can soak, shower and afterwards have the hourlong Aromassage or Shiatsu massage with choice of floral, minty or spicy oil blends.
Go extra and avail of the rose-petal bubble bath setup plus personalized tin-can cake. Make sure to drop by the gym and infinity pool before checking out at 2 p.m. the next day.
Can’t stay overnight? Go on a “day trip” and reserve a spa-and-buffet deal for two. Just make sure to go earlier and have the treatments first because the buffet opens at 4 p.m., and it would be be iffy getting a masage while full. All packages include the use of the communal onsen and wet floor.
The Romance & Chocolate package is three glorious hours of pampering in this order: coffee or chocolate body scrub, full-body Aromassage and Korean foot spa.
Peer Pleasure is an hour and a half of well, pleasure, for four. De-stress with your squad through a massage and Xiamen Foot Reflexology. Each guest gets to take home a 30-ml bottle of massage oil (Heal, Revive, Renew or Calm).
Self-love
Introverts who are not comfortable getting naked around people they know would enjoy the almost two-hour Self-Love package with eye treatment and scalp and body massage.
The buffet is the next best part of these Valentine promos. The Common Good has nine stations for all tastes, curated by pioneer chefs Paul Cruz and Ranuka Hettiarachchi. Name a food you crave and it’s probably there: roast duck, grilled porkchop, seafood, kimchi rice, cheese, curry, dumplings, and all the dessert and drinks your heart desires.
The buffet is only for dinner, and if you ever find yourself in the area during lunch, The Common Good has a Set Lunch Menu with free coffee or iced tea, created by chef Gary Ordoñez. The generous servings of beef with kimchi fried rice, japchae, cheese katsu, fish and chips can also be delivered via Foodpanda.
Hungry yet? I’M Hotel marketing manager Melissa Lim has soft-launched her new baby, Melc Tea, a line of milk tea and refreshing drinks in reusable drink ware which, for now, is a “secret menu” at the hotel.
The Common Good and Melc Tea are available on the Foodpanda app. I’m Hotel, Makati Avenue, Makati City; Tel. 77557888; email reservations@imhotel.com; www.imhotel.com
